FIFA officials involved with organized criminal activity will now be immortalized in Las Vegas’ very own Mob Museum.
Opening in September, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement (i.e. the Mob Museum) will install a permanent exhibit devoted to recent FIFA scandals and other soccer-related scandals called “The Beautiful Game Turns Ugly”, according to the Review Journal.
The exhibit will contain photos, news articles, and original stories about the IRS’ investigative division called “the World Cup of Fraud”.
In case you have no clue to what we are referring: the U.S. Justice Department indicted 9 FIFA officials and 5 sports marketing executives last May for their roles in a 24-year $150 million bribery scandal. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal referred to the scandal as a “mafia-stlye” crime syndicate that does disservice to the name “mafia” because indicted officials were so brazen about their actions.
